To be honest, even if you aren't a Mum you can use these.
I absolutely love penny pinching programmes. I'm forever taking tips from them and making them into my own to suit my family. From meal ideas to things just for us Mums, here are my top 10.
1) "Delete meat twice a week" - My daughter who is 3 isn't great at eating meats anyway, so this makes no difference to her atall, but we ditched chicken in our fajitas and didn't miss it at all. You can even ditch meat in you're roasts! I know it seems criminal but to save some pennies its so worth it. On average changing to meat free only 2 days a week saves us around £10!
2) Coconut Oil is god - not literally but you get the idea. I use it for everythingggggg, I really mean it to. Its fantastic for removing make up, moisturising everyone, on a damp cloth ( small amount) it makes THE most amazing wood polish.
3) Be willing to try supermarket brands - I have never been a supermarket snob, but I have always gone for the same old brands of washing detergents and softeners, but recently when money has been tighter I've dived into the un-named brands! I have to say Tesco do a gorgeous selection of softners that are exactly the same as the more expensive ones.
4) Fruits and Vegetables - Have you seen what the supermarkets are doing? Fruits and veggies that are odd shapes and sizes! They bung them into a bag and sell them for dirt cheap, no pun intended. Taste exactly the same, and nearly 50p cheaper.
5) Meal plan - The oldest trick in the book and my favourite, write down for every day of the week, and then only write on your shopping list exactly what you need, it saves money, time and waste!
6) Shop online - Probably the best thing I ever started, I can see the deals, and I can see exactly how much i'm spending.
7) Have a "Fakeaway" - We love Indian takeaway but we've noticed its going up nearly every time we get it! Most of the supermarkets now do a Meal deal box for around £7, and its delicious.
So there you go, I think I probably have way more than this, but they are more un-mum related things.
Ps : Suggestions of what you can do with the saved pennies, buy wine, buy wine, buy wine?
